Dome Dilemma Piece Of Cake For Lustalux |
Retail outlet McCarthur Glen recently contacted Lustalux regarding their Livingston outlet's giant glass domed roof, which was causing serious glare and heat radiation problems for staff and customers alike.

| Initially this month-long project appeared to be a logistical nightmare. Firstly, in order to minimise disruption, work had to be carried out between midnight and 8am. Furthermore, film had to be applied to every panel within the giant 30 metre-high dome and a specially constructed boom had to be used to reach every section. The job was made more difficult still by a revolving mobile hanging from the dome which had to be safely negotiated. In the end though, the job was no match for our team, in particular senior technician Rickey Sutton who braved long hours and a not insubstantial working height to apply a silver reflective solar control film to get the job done. |
