Derby Hospital Goes Green (Literally)

Staff working in the main entrance area of the brand new Royal Derby Hospital complained that glare and heat was causing discomfort.

Contractors involved with the construction of the state of the art building approached Lustalux for a solution.The brief was to remedy the problem with a solar control film that did not create a harsh mirror effect.Part of the building is clad with green oxidised copper panelling and therefore Lustalux MGN Green Reflective film was selected for the project.

Work was carried out over several nights when the building usage was at a minimum using powered high level access equipment. The result is reduced heat and glare and a pleasing subtle green effect to the glazing.
