We were approached to work on this project with the goal to increase the safety and security of the exercise yards whilst creating a pleasant atmosphere for the patients.
The brief
The brief was to clad the existing fence with solid boarding that was sturdy, secure and highly tamper-proof. It also needed to look aesthetically pleasing, so printed graphics were to be added to the cladding.
The solution
To deliver this intricate project, we teamed up with a joinery contractor who provided timber battening for the fence. We then installed aluminium panels wrapped with laminated full colour graphics that created a woodland scene.
For added safety, the vinyl graphic was wrapped around the edges of each individual panel, removing sharp edges.
Plus, there were a couple of technical areas where panels needed to be cut and notched around various elements, such as doors and handles. This was done carefully to ensure the fence remained secure and tamper proof.
The Result
The Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust’s chosen exercise yards were made safe and secure with woodland murals to complete the look at one of their mental health facilities.
The vinyl graphics installed are made from high quality weather proof materials to stand the test of time and keep looking fantastic.
