Parents Raise £8000 to update family respite accommodation.
Daniel passed away in 2017 from a brain haemorrhage related to diabetes. He was only 32.
Daniels’s mother Julie and her husband Michael had spent a great deal of time in Royal Preston Hospital with Daniel, since his diagnosis with type 1 diabetes; aged 11.
“Type 1 diabetes can be very difficult to control in teenagers and Daniel was admitted on to the Children’s Ward at the Royal Preston Hospital a number of times.”

The couple wanted to give something back to the hospital that cared for Daniel and got to work raising money. Contributions from friends and family and also a donation from Julies company helped the couple make a generous donation.
“It became a second home in that it was somewhere Daniel felt safe and comfortable and where we as a family felt well supported.”
Lustalux provided a large format printed beach scene that was used as a wall mural to create a calming mood in the room. Our wall murals can be found across the northwest in hospitals, schools, care homes, hospices and nurseries. There are unlimited possibilities regarding designs and we have a whole library of stunning images to choose from. The murals are laminated after printing and easy to clean, unlike traditional wallpapers.

Appeal fundraiser Lucy Clark confirmed: “Our aim is to make the parents’ area a calm space for parents to take time out.”
