Proud Lancastrians, with head-quarters in the North West of England and headed up by namesake managing director Richard Lancaster, Lustalux has undertaken work for some high profile northern companies. Here’s a snapshot of some of them:
Blackpool Tower – Walk of Faith
For anyone living in Lancashire, the Blackpool Tower is a widely recognised landmark steeped in history.
Built in 1894 and standing at 158 metres tall, the Tower Eye offers a solid glass viewing panel with panoramic views of the North West.
In 2012 Lustalux were tasked with strengthening the Sky Walk glass floor. This was done by applying a scratch resistant, anti-vandal safety film to protect the two laminated glass sheets from damage caused by the 3 million tourists that visit the tower each year.
Ongoing maintenance includes three visits a year where we return to prime and protect this well trodden walk of faith.
Harris Museum – Protecting Preston’s Treasures
From protecting people to protecting priceless artefacts, Lustalux was approached by the Preston City Council in 2015 to help them find a solution for reducing sun damage caused from sunlight entering the four roof atria sited at the top of the Harris Museum.
The Harris Museum dates back to 1893 and houses many fine art collections, rare books and artifacts.
After careful consideration, Lustalux recommended and installed an external weatherable, solar control film that afforded a high level heat and glare reduction propertie
Light levels have now been substantially reduced and now meet the required levels ensuring protection for Preston’s treasures for years to come.
The English Football League – Full Monty for the EFL
The English Football League (EFL) was founded in 1888 and as such is the oldest competition in world football.
When Preston based EFL moved from Preston Docklands to their new premises, they commissioned a full monty of products from Lustalux.
Various internal and external signage was duly designed and installed at their new home on Fishergate Hill including an illuminated free standing sign proudly displaying the EFL logo.
Impressive internal glass door manifestations were to complete the building’s branding which also provided light and privacy for meeting areas.
The final wrap came from the application of privacy and solar film which was applied to all the external windows to help create a more comfortable, private and safe environment for their visitors and staff.
Lustalux is proud to provide protection, safety and security for other sectors including, education and care homes and work throughout the UK.
