How Long Does UV Blocking Window Film Last?
The UV protection in our solar control window film doesn’t “run out”, you will receive UV protection for as long as the window film is installed for. Our UV solar control window films have a lifespan of 10-15 years. But different circumstances can affect the longevity of the window film. We provide a 10 year warranty for all internal window films if damage or adhesive issues do occur.
What is the Best UV Blocking Window Film?
The best UV blocking window film will have 99% UV protection. At Lustalux we have a range of UV protection window films that offer different benefits. For example, our clear UV film is completely transparent and made purely to block harmful UV rays, but we also stock heat control window films that block UV but also reduce heat in hot spaces.
Can UV Control Window Film Damage Windows?
No, our UV prevention window films are designed to adhere to your windows but can be removed without causing damage to the glass surface.

Is Clear UV Protection Film Enough to Prevent Fading in Furniture?
Yes, our clear UV control window film is specifically designed for UV control. Even though they are completely clear, they protect your furniture and skin like any other UV blocking window film. They still block up to 99% of any UV rays, the benefit of this film is that it also doesn’t reduce sunlight, allowing for a UV protected yet bright space.
Do UV Control Window Films Affect Plants?
For most indoor house plants, our UV film will not affect them negatively, some plants do need stronger sunlight so our tinted films could slightly affect them. Some of our UV window films however can actually benefit indoor plants as they can reduce the risk of sunburn and prevent the soil from drying out to quickly. The best type of window films for house plants are clear or slightly tinted options.
Some plants that vary in colour for example – red leaf plants, do develop more colour under UV light. So, you might notice less colourful plants, but it does not affect the overall health of the plant.
If you are worried that the UV control film is affecting your plants, then you could add a grow light above your plants or move them to different windows.

- Reflective window film provides UV protection, reduced glare and is more designed for heat control. These reflective glass films are ideal for energy efficiency in summer as they reduce heat, and winter as they can hold heat for longer. They also have the benefit of offering daytime privacy for high windows with high footfall.
