Commercial window film, signage & architectural film across Scotland
Lustalux delivers specialist window film, signage, graphics and architectural-film installations across Scotland, supported through our Scottish project hub in Falkirk.
From offices and commercial property in Glasgow and Edinburgh to healthcare, education, retail, transport and remote regional projects, we survey the site, specify the appropriate system and programme installation around the building.
Whether the requirement is solar control, privacy, manifestation, specialist glazing protection, commercial signage or resurfacing existing interiors, several finishing requirements can be coordinated through one specialist team. Survey, specify, approve, programme, install and hand over.
Photos, drawings and glazing information can be described in the enquiry or sent once we are in contact — the current form does not accept file uploads. Typical enquiry response on the published contact pages is 24 hours.

Heat & glare
Commercial solar-control film for offices, education, healthcare, retail and glazed public buildings.
Privacy
Frost, reeded, decorative and other suitable privacy treatments for meeting rooms, partitions and commercial interiors.
Glass visibility
Manifestation designed around applicable Scottish glazing-visibility requirements and the project specification.
Glazing protection
Tested safety and security film systems for defined fragment-retention and specialist security requirements.
Signage & wayfinding
Commercial internal, external, directional and bespoke signage, coordinated with film and graphics where needed.
Surface refurbishment
Architectural film for suitable doors, counters, panels, joinery and other commercial surfaces.
Commercial window film installation across Scotland
Commercial window film should be selected around the existing glazing and the outcome the building needs. Glass type, coatings, orientation, exposure, privacy requirements, appearance and defined safety performance can all affect the correct specification. Scottish commercial glazing is not all the same, and this is not automotive tinting. See window film.
Solar control
Can reduce solar heat gain and glare through suitable commercial glazing, specified around the existing glass.
Privacy
Frost, reeded, gradient and other privacy treatments for partitions, meeting rooms and commercial interiors.
Decorative film
Reeded, coloured reeded, frost, gradient and bespoke effects on suitable flat glazing.
Manifestation
Designed around applicable Scottish Building Standards and the wider project specification.
Safety / security
Tested film systems for defined impact, fragment-retention and specialist security requirements.
Reduce solar heat and glare through Scottish commercial glazing
Scotland's climate does not remove solar-control requirements on suitable glazed buildings. Solar-control film can reduce solar heat gain and glare through suitable glazing. It does not regulate room temperature, guarantee energy savings, make air-conditioning unnecessary or reject the same percentage of heat on every film. See commercial solar control. Named Scottish shopping-centre solar installations are not currently published as standalone case studies on this site.

Glass manifestation for Scottish commercial buildings
Manifestation designed around the applicable Scottish glazing-visibility requirements and project specification. Scottish projects sit under the Building (Scotland) Regulations and the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks — not Approved Document K, which is England Building Regulations guidance. We do not hard-code a clause number here, describe manifestation as DDA certified, or treat decorative film as automatically compliant regardless of layout. See glass manifestation and construction and fit-out.

Specialist glazing protection for Scottish commercial and public buildings
Tested film systems available for defined safety, fragment-retention and specialist security requirements. Blast-mitigation glazing systems, where specified, depend on glass, frame, film, edge retention and a defined threat or performance requirement. Security consultants and the client's risk assessment should define that requirement. Film is not unbreakable, blast-proof or bomb-proof, and it does not make a building compliant with security law. See security and safety film.

Glasgow Central Station
Specialist protective film at Glasgow Central Station
At Glasgow Central Station, Lustalux installed specialist clear protective film to retail glazing within an operational transport environment, with work programmed during quieter overnight periods over approximately one week.
The project demonstrates capability to deliver specialist protective glazing systems where the client's security assessment or specification calls for them. It is not Martyn's Law compliant window film, and it is not a claim that any statute requires the product.

The Tun, Holyrood
Wayfinding and signage for an Edinburgh landmark office building
At The Tun in Edinburgh, Lustalux delivered signage designed to work with a distinctive contemporary commercial building, including totem, directional and projecting signs for a multi-occupier environment.
The building sits in Holyrood, close to the Scottish Parliament and the Royal Mile. That is Edinburgh commercial-property proof — not a claim that signs increase investment value.

Refresh Scottish commercial interiors without unnecessary replacement
Where the underlying substrate remains serviceable, architectural film can provide another refurbishment route before an item is replaced solely because its decorative finish is dated. That can retain the existing substrate, reduce strip-out and allow phased work in suitable situations. It is not universally sustainable, eco-friendly, zero waste, maintenance-free or 80% cheaper, and we do not promise zero downtime. See architectural film, internal architectural film and exterior architectural film. Balfour Hospital, Kirkwall
Taking a 30-metre healthcare artwork from wall to glass in Orkney
For the new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall, Lustalux worked with artist Samantha Clark to translate a 30-metre artwork across both solid walls and glazing, using clear window film where the design passed over glass.
The stronger commercial point is that a remote location did not prevent Lustalux delivering a complex specification. Travel and ferry logistics are supporting proof, not the headline.
View the Orkney projectProjects beyond the Central Belt
Not every Scottish project is in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Where scope justifies it, Lustalux can plan surveys and installations for regional and island sites, accounting for travel, freight, access and programme requirements. We do not promise instant surveys anywhere, same-day Highland or island response, or identical lead times to Central Scotland.

Remote-site proof
Orkney as logistics evidence
Kirkwall required wall graphics and clear window film as one specification, delivered around ferry and travel constraints. That is country-wide operational competence, not a tourism story.

Projects delivered across Scotland
Only work whose project record confirms a Scottish location is presented as Scottish proof. Glasgow Central, The Tun and Balfour Hospital currently give three distinct stories: specialist protective glazing in an operational station, commercial property signage in Edinburgh, and healthcare graphics delivered to Orkney.

Glasgow project
Specialist protective film at Glasgow Central Station
Clear specialist protective film on retail glazing inside Glasgow Central Station, installed overnight over approximately one week in an operational transport environment.

Edinburgh project

Kirkwall project
Case Study - Wall Mural for Orkney Hospital
A 30-metre artwork translated across walls and glazing at the new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall, using clear window film where the design crossed glass.

These cards fill service gaps that the Scottish case studies do not already cover — architectural-film refurbishment and solar control specified with surface wrapping. They are UK project examples, not Scottish jobs.

One specification across several Scottish sites
FM providers, retail groups, corporate estates, healthcare, education and industrial or commercial portfolios can use a central specification, common materials, artwork control, site surveys, programmed installation and consistent handover. Country-wide geography also means regional grouping of installer mobilisation, materials logistics and travel. See facilities management, construction and fit-out and industrial and commercial.
Plan installation around the Scottish site
Give us the site location, access requirements and programme early. A Glasgow city-centre project, an Edinburgh office fit-out and an island healthcare installation can require very different mobilisation plans. Evening, weekend or phased installation can be considered where practical and agreed. We do not promise zero disruption, no downtime, or overnight work on every site. Glasgow Central is genuine proof of overnight installation in an operational environment.

Phased and out-of-hours work
Access windows should be agreed around the building — station overnight works, occupied offices, public opening hours or ferry timetables. Programme-led installation is not the same as promising that installation never affects operations.

Questions about commercial work in Scotland
Do you have a team in Scotland?
Yes. Our Scotland project hub is at Falkirk Business Hub, 45 Vicar Street, Falkirk, FK1 1LL, on 01324 466936. It supports surveys and commercial installation rather than acting as a public showroom, fabrication facility or permanently staffed counter, and we don't run a separate Glasgow or Edinburgh office.
Where is your Scotland hub?
Falkirk Business Hub, 45 Vicar Street, Falkirk, FK1 1LL. Sitting between Glasgow and Edinburgh, it supports commercial projects across Central Scotland and further afield.
Do you install commercial window film in Glasgow and Edinburgh?
Yes. At Glasgow Central Station we installed specialist protective film in a live transport environment, and at The Tun in Edinburgh we delivered commercial property signage and wayfinding. Send us the site postcode and we'll confirm how the survey and installation would work.
Do you work outside Glasgow and Edinburgh?
Yes, where the scope and logistics allow. Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall shows we can deliver well beyond the Central Belt. Lead times won't match a Central Belt project, though, and we can't promise same-day response in the Highlands or islands.
Can you survey commercial glazing in Scotland?
Yes, where the project needs one. A survey usually confirms the glass type, dimensions, coatings, orientation, any existing film, access and what the building needs the glazing to do.
Can solar film reduce heat and glare in Scottish commercial buildings?
Yes, the right solar-control film can cut solar heat gain and glare through suitable glazing — Scotland's climate doesn't remove the need for solar control on a heavily glazed building. How much depends on the product we specify and the glass you already have, so we'd rather assess your glazing than promise you a temperature drop or an energy saving up front.
Can you install privacy film in Scottish offices?
Yes. We can specify frost, gradient, reeded, coloured reeded and other decorative treatments around the privacy, daylight and appearance you need. Worth knowing: reflective film works with the light, so it won't give you privacy around the clock.
Can you install glass manifestation in Scotland?
Yes. We design manifestation around the Scottish glazing-visibility requirements and your project specification — not Approved Document K, which is guidance for England. No design is automatically compliant whatever the layout, and we don't describe manifestation as DDA certified.
Can safety or security film be retrofitted to existing glass?
Often, yes — but the existing glass, framing, any current film, the attachment, the location and the performance you need all have to be reviewed first. There are tested systems for defined fragment-retention and specialist security requirements, though no film makes glass unbreakable.
Does Martyn's Law mean Scottish venues need security window film?
Not automatically. The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 has received Royal Assent, but its substantive obligations hadn't commenced when we wrote this. Even once they do, what counts as an appropriate measure depends on your premises and what's reasonably practicable, so any specialist glazing protection should follow a real security assessment or specification. This isn't legal advice.
Can you provide commercial signage across Scotland?
Yes, and we can coordinate it with window film and architectural film. At The Tun in Edinburgh we delivered totem, directional and projecting signs for a commercial property.
Can you work on island or remote Scottish sites?
Often, yes, depending on the scope and logistics. Travel, ferry access, freight, accommodation and weather contingency all have to be planned into the programme, and Orkney showed us a complex specification can still be delivered.
Can you manage several Scottish sites under one programme?
Yes, depending on the scope. Across FM, retail, corporate, healthcare, education and industrial estates we can work to a central specification with common materials, artwork control, site-by-site surveys, installers mobilised region by region and consistent handover.
Planning a commercial project in Scotland?
Send our Scotland team the site postcode, photographs or project drawings and tell us what the building needs to achieve. Whether the requirement is solar control, office privacy, glass manifestation, specialist glazing protection, commercial signage, graphics or architectural film, we'll review the scope and confirm the appropriate survey and installation plan. Artwork and drawings can be described in the enquiry or sent once we are in contact — the current form does not accept file uploads.
