what is glass manifestation?
manifestation film is a visible adhesive layer applied to glass windows, doors, and partitions. making clear glass more visible helps prevent people from accidentally walking into it and causing injury.
the legal bit: what’s required?
glass manifestation is often a legal requirement. under regulation 14 of the workplace (health, safety and the welfare) regulations 1992, and the building regulations 2010: document k.4 (protection against impact with glazing), entrances and partitions should be clearly defined.
manifestation is commonly installed at two levels:
- 850–1000 mm above floor level
- 1400–1600 mm above floor level
the film should contrast with the background and be visible through the glass from both sides in all lighting conditions. the regulations guide where it should appear, but not the exact design—so you can choose dots, stripes, or bespoke branding.
