Privacy Film

When we’re looking to create private, comfortable spaces without sacrificing natural light, privacy window film offers an elegant, no-fuss solution. Whether it’s for a bathroom, a street-facing bedroom or a busy home office, this type of film gives us control over visibility, making interiors feel more secure and relaxed. We’ve used it in everything from large-scale office fit-outs to small flat renovations, and it consistently delivers reliable results with minimal disruption.

One of the things we’ve always appreciated about privacy window film is its simplicity. There’s no need for bulky blinds or permanent frosted glass. Instead, a slim layer of film can be applied directly to your existing windows, delivering both subtle style and day-to-day functionality. With a range of finishes to choose from – including frosted, patterned and one-way mirror styles – it's easy to find something that suits both the space and your needs.

FROSTED WINDOW FILM.

Frosted Window Film is a very effective way to provide round the clock privacy. With the frosted day and night privacy window film, etched or sand blast appearance both inward and outward vision can be obscured simply and quickly. Maintenance is extremely minimal and there is no noticeable loss of natural light through your windows. In the case of sash windows, a popular practice is to apply the film to the lower sash thereby still allowing vison out through the upper sash but preventing prying eyes through the lower sash – ideal if your windows are close to a pavement or public right of way.

We have a wide range of different frosted glass film styles which include our heritage pattern window film, centrepiece designs, and more, see our decorative window film page for more options. These are all ideal for day and night window privacy, while some offer partial visibility, others offer 24/7 privacy.

ONE WAY PRIVACY WINDOW FILM.

One Way Privacy Film is a reflective or “mirror” film designed to deal with the effects of solar heat and glare and is commonly known as solar control window film. Depending on the density of the mirrored window film you chose, combined with internal and external light levels and times of day, this film will provide excellent daytime privacy. This effect is largely reversed when it is dark outside, and the lights are on inside.

The added benefit of the mirrored solar films is that they provide excellent heat and glare reduction as well as filtering out over 99% of UV which is the primary cause of fade damage to furnishings and artefacts.

Can you see Through Mirror Window Film at Night?

Mirror window film is known as a "day-time privacy film" or "one way window film", but it is really designed for solar control which has the added benefit of privacy due to its reflective coating. Our mirror window films feature a one way mirror effect, the lightest side has the mirror, so in the daytime you would be able to see out and no one can see in, but at night when your lights are on indoors this effect will flip and you would not be able to see out but people can see in. For 24hr privacy window film you would require our frosted window film or reeded glass film. See below and find the best window film for privacy.

How do I Make Windows Private but Still let in Light?

For complete privacy that allows for full natural light depends on the type of glass film you choose. Here is the best 24hr privacy window films and their benefits:

  • Reeded glass film allows for complete privacy by abstracting the view yet still provides fully natural light to enter. It is an ideal window film for bathrooms and spaces where you want to focus on privacy. A benefit of our reeded window film is that we have a wide range of colour options to match your home interior or office design.
  • Frosted window film is also one of the best window films to achieve window privacy. It provides a frosted effect so you can’t see in or out. The opaque style of this film lightens spaces and softens harsh sunlight to reduce some glare. We have a wide range of frosted window film options like our window film frames or centrepiece designs if you want to add some style. But we do recommend for complete privacy to choose one of the colour options and not the clear.
  • Our range of reflective window coatings (otherwise known as one way window film) can reduce natural sunlight depending on the level you choose. Our 50% silver reflective film has a lighter tint but also has a lower “reflective effect so is not completely ideal if you want to focus on privacy. Whereas our 80% silver window privacy film has a darker tint but offers much more daytime privacy. These reflector films for windows are more designed for heat control with the added benefit of privacy. So, we do need to make you aware that these only provide daytime privacy and we recommend you use blinds or curtains at night. The benefit of these window films is that they provide daytime privacy, heat control and UV protection.
  • Stained glass window film is a colourful choice for privacy. They still allow for plenty of daylight and our frosted options offer complete 24hr privacy. They come in a wide range of options and can change the colour of the natural sunlight.
